OUR UPDATE ON COVID-19 and OUR SERVICES

Rest assured that Float District is doing everything possible to protect our employees and customers. We have and always will implement stringent sanitation and cleaning processes throughout our facility.

Additionally, as an added measure we are implementing “self-screening” and prescreening questions for all appointments moving forward asking customers with any of the symptoms to reschedule for at least two weeks beyond symptom onset. Our staff are also implementing “social distancing” measures to the best of our ability and we ask that our customers do the same.

We know you may have some questions regarding the transmission of COVID-19 and we wanted to share the information below:

Dr. Roy Vore is a microbial physiologist specializing in the management of recreational waters.

He has shared this knowledge with us and we wanted to share it with you.

“The virus, SARS-CoV-2, is spread in droplets produced by coughing and sneezing that inhaled by someone within 6 feet. It MAY be spread my touching droplets that fall on surfaces and then that person touches their faces. It is not spread in water, such as float water. Float centers should use US EPA registered hard surface disinfectants to clean and sanitize their surfaces in the general front area, including any chairs and counters, and then clean and disinfect all solid surfaces in the float room including the changing area, clothing hooks, and doorknobs. That should be sufficient. In reality, people are more likely to catch this virus while at the grocery store than at a float center.”

Additionally, the CDC has released this information regarding whether the COVID-19 virus spread through pools and hot tubs.

“There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.”
